Ajang Grammy Awards 2016 Berikan 70 Piala dari Berbagai Kategori

Grammy 2016 1Gelaran Grammy Awards ke 58 baru saja usai. Tak kurang 70 piala dari berbagai kategori telah diberikan kepada para pemenangnya, mulai dari Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, Best Rock Album, Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Best Reggae, hingga Song of the Year.

Ada yang tidak biasa dalam ajang Grammy Awards tahun ini, yaitu digelar pada hari Senin 15 Februari, waktu Amerika atau Selasa 16 Februari Waktu Indonesia, bukan di hari Minggu seperti biasanya. Pasalnya di Amerika, tanggal 15 Februari merupakan President’s Day, sehingga disana ada long weekend, ehingga pihak Grammy memutuskan untuk menyelanggarakan di hari Senin.

Dalam acara ang digelar di Staples Centre, Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat itu memang tidak semuanya ditayangkan secara live di TV, tetapi ada beberapa piala yang diberikan dalam ‘pre-telecast’ yang digelar di Microsoft Theater, yang bersebelahan dengan Staples Center tempat diadakannya Grammy Awards. Sedang untuk kategori yang bergengsi disiarkan secara langsung di TV.

LL Coll J masih dipercaya menjadi host tahun ini. Bahkan dengan tampilnya ia di ajang Grammy Award ke 58 ini berarti ia telah 5 tahun berturut-turut menjadi host ajang yang memberikan pala berbentuk gramafon ini.

grammy 2016 2Pemegang nominasi terbanyak tahun ini adalah Rapper Kendrick Lamar, ia mendapatkan 11 nominasi, sekaligus mengalahkan Eminem sebagai rapper dengan nominasi terbanyak. Kemudian disusul , Taylor Swift dan The Weeknd masing-masing mendapatkan 7 nominasi. Sepanjang gelaran ini pemegang nominasi terbanyak masih dimiliki Michael Jackson dengan 12 nominasi di tahun 1984.

Deretan nama musikus terkenal seperti Taylor Swift, Adele, Justin Bieber, Diplo, Ellie Goulding, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar akan tampil memeriahkan panggung Grammy Awards 2016. Yang membanggakan, diantara para deretan artis top dunia sebagai penampil, tampul pula musisi belia Joey Alexander yang menbawakan lagu “Freedom Jazz Dance” dari Eddie Harris.

Selain sebagai artis yang tampil dalam acar tersebut, Joey Alexander juga meraih nominasi Best Jazz Instrumental Album untuk album perdananya bertajuk My Favorite Things dan Best Improvised Jazz Solo untuk lagunya berjudul ‘Giant Steps’ yang terdapat di album tersebut.

Meski belum beruntung menyabet piala, tetapi penampilan Joey sudah memukau dunia, dan mendapat tepuk tangan yang meriah dari para musisi dunia yang hadir diacara tersebut./Irish/Foto Bravotv.com.
